Director of State Government Relations

The Director of State Government Relations will serve as a key liaison between the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), the Tennessee General Assembly, and other government agencies. Working in collaboration with the AVC, the Coordinator for Government Relations, and the Executive Vice Chancellor for External Affairs, the Director is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and analyzing all proposed state legislation and assessing its potential effects on the TBR System. The Director will provide strategic advice and direction on how legislative activity may impact the System’s budget and policy priorities—particularly those related to student recruitment, support, progression, and completion.
The Director cultivates strong relationships with legislators, state officials, and policy stakeholders to advocate for the TBR System and align public policy with institutional, workforce development, and student success goals.
This position will serve in a cross functional role with the other Directors in the Department of Government and Public Relations. This position supervises the Coordinator of Government Relations.
This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary. |

The Operations Support Specialist- Workforce Development is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing key events and supporting operational functions within the Department of Government and Public Relations. Reporting administratively to the Manager of Marketing Operations, this position plays a vital role in ensuring efficient internal operations and impactful external engagement.
The position supports daily project management and procurement activities, in addition to the logistical planning and execution of a variety of high-profile events, including the annual Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Awards, quarterly board meetings, presidents’ meetings, TBR Days on the Hill, and statewide workforce development convenings. This role ensures all events are well-organized, align with TBR branding and messaging standards, and deliver a seamless experience for both internal and external stakeholders.

Curriculum and Compliance Coordinator

• Work closely with faculty, staff, industry partners, and accrediting bodies to coordinate the design, review, and revision of academic programs and courses to ensure they meet educational standards and industry needs.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and institutional policies.
• Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs and student learning outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support to faculty in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and compliance matters.

• Implement ongoing professional development and training for adjunct, substitute, and full-time faculty
• Assist with the evaluation of faculty performance, identify areas for improvement in academic programs and implement strategies to enhance curriculum quality and compliance.
• Performs all other duties assigned by the Vice President and President.
