About the Department:
The School of Nursing prepares students for interdisciplinary roles as clinicians, educators, researchers, and administrators. Our students learn to address the challenges of a rapidly changing and diverse health care environment with hands-on experience in our simulation and skills labs and our Mason and Partners clinics. Their experience working with the culturally diverse patient population in the northern Virginia area provides them with the necessary skills to deliver health care where it’s needed the most.

About the Position:
The Nursing Academic Programs Clinical Readiness and Regulatory Compliance Manager serves as a pivotal leader within the School of Nursing, ensuring that students meet clinical readiness requirements and that clinicals for prelicensure academic programs maintain compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation standards. This role supports clinical placement processes, oversees compliance operations, coordinates with academic program leadership, and liaises with clinical partners to maintain program excellence and integrity. The role works collaboratively with academic leaders to support the integration of clinicals, simulation and immersive technologies for experiential learning for professional practice across nursing curricula.

Responsibilities:
- Oversight of all School of Nursing infrastructure and processes that support clinical operations across undergraduate and graduate programs;
- Ensures all agency competency and compliance documentation is submitted and maintained (e.g., immunizations, background checks, drug screens, CPR certification, licensure etc.);
- Collaborates with faculty and division directors to identify clinical placement needs;
- Supervises, hires, and onboards adjunct and wage workers on an as needed basis to support the staffing and scheduling of clinicals (including lab) in collaboration with faculty and division directors;
- Drafts and updates clinical compliance policies and procedures in collaboration with academic leadership;
- Establishes and evaluates all processes and procedures supporting clinical operations, coordinating management with division directors and administrative staff;
- Assures the provision of training and education to students, faculty, and staff regarding onboarding of faculty teaching clinicals (clinical teaching expectations), and compliance requirements;
- Develops strategies to enhance understanding and adherence to clinical and regulatory policies;
- Serves as the primary liaison between the School of Nursing, clinical partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to affiliation agreements, agency policies, and accreditation standards;
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with clinical site partners to facilitate student placements and assure compliance with site requirements;
- Coordinates with clinical sites regarding changes and/or requirements for affiliation agreements and site evaluations;
- Supervises and coordinates the activities and scheduling functions performed by the Coordinator of Graduate and Undergraduate Clinicals;
- Works collaboratively with Program Directors and other lab and simulation personnel to ensure the operational readiness of clinical labs;
- Oversees scheduling of students in clinical lab experiences/rotations; and
- Collaborates with faculty to utilize clinical, lab, and simulation practice activities that are aligned with program and course objectives and regulatory requirements for clinical training.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field;
- Active, unencumbered nursing license in Virginia;
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements related to nursing education and clinical practice placements;
- Knowledge of nursing practices;
- Knowledge of technology platforms related to simulation, compliance tracking (e.g. Typhon), and electronic health records (EHRs);
- Skill in organization and project management;
- Skill in verbal and written communication;
- Ability to schedule clinical placements for student learners; and
- Ability to develop and maintain partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing clinical onboarding or compliance systems (e.g., CastleBranch or Typhon); and
- Prior experience in simulation coordination or clinical placement within a nursing or healthcare academic program.
