About the Department:

The Center, with international reach, supports robust research that studies complex corruption, transnational organized crime, terrorism, and the social networks that make them possible, offering findings based on evidence-based analysis to policy and decisionmakers, law enforcement, and civil society organizations.

About the Position:

This position serves Center goals primarily in the following capacities: identifying potential grants and writing grant proposals in collaboration with Center directors; carrying out and supporting research directed by Center leaders; holding fiduciary responsibility at the grant level and ensuring administrative requirements are met, including budgets and submitting performance reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies potential grants and writes grant proposals as agreed with Center directors;
  • Carries out and supports research in support of grant applications and revenue-generating projects;
  • Holds fiduciary responsibility at the grant level and ensures administrative requirements are met, including budgets and submission of performance reports;
  • Plans and coordinates Center events and revenue-generating training; liaises with partners; and
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree;
  • Demonstrated experience in writing grant proposals and managing awarded grants and budgets;
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with complex research projects, conducting field research and complex and network-based research, and publishing scholarly findings;
  • Experience working with governmental and international bodies, as well as with non-governmental organizations;
  • Experience coding data;
  • Experience working with colleagues/teams from within a university and across institutions.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and budgets accurately and efficiently in a timely fashion;
  • Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines; and
  • Demonstrated ability to research complex topics and publish findings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in policy research and advancing policy; and
  • Fluency in foreign languages.
