Position Summary

The School of Health Sciences Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is responsible for implementing admission application and selection criteria, recruiting applicants, assisting them through the application process, and determining their admission status. Recruitment and admission assistance includes but is not limited to organizing and attending student recruitment events and answering phone, email and walk-in inquiries about SHS programs and the admission process. Determining admission status includes but is not limited to ensuring all qualifications and selection criteria are met and notifying applicants of their application and admission status. The Coordinator will be the first point of contact for newly admitted students as they navigate program/clinical requirements such as health and immunization, CPR verification, and criminal background checks. This position requires face to face and online meetings with prospective applicants, assistant deans, program directors and academic chairs and the School of Health Science Health Systems Coordinator. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, work independently and collaboratively. The position is in-person M-F during SHS operational hours.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive  benefits package .

In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment and Marketing: While providing first point of contact customer centric services, develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students to include but not limited to representing the School of Health Sciences at college fairs, open houses, and other recruitment events. Actively build and maintain relationships with prospective students and community partners to include but not limited to primary and secondary education institutions, hospitals and care facilities, etc. Coordinate the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote the school’s programs, create and distribute marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, web and social media content. Coordinate and participate in prospective student events to include but not limited to program information sessions. Provide information to prospective students about the programs offered and the career paths they lead to. Support recruitment and marketing projects and events assigned by the supervisor.

Admissions and Advising: While providing first point of contact customer centric services, provide application assistance to prospective students and determine admission status. This includes but is not limited to admission application and selection criteria development, guiding applicants through the application process, providing support and answering questions, reviewing and processing applications, ensuring all required documents are submitted, verifying applicant eligibility and completeness of application materials, evaluating applications and making admission decisions based on established criteria, communicating admission decisions to applicants in a timely and professional manner and maintaining accurate records of applicant data and admission statuses

Student Enrollment: While providing first point of contact customer centric services, develop, maintain and ensure there is a transition plan in place for converting prospective students to applicants to accepted and enrolled students. Provide clear and concise information to newly admitted students regarding new student orientations/meetings, program/clinical requirements and deadlines, to include but not limited to, submitting health examination records, criminal background checks, CPR verifications and drug screen results.

Data Management and Compliance: While providing first point of contact customer centric services, track and analyze recruitment and admission data and prepare reports on recruitment and admission activities for school leadership. Ensure compliance with all program/clinical, school and college policies and regulations, including but not limited to FERPA, HIPAA, red flags, health examination records, criminal background checks, and drug screening requirements.

Operational, Policy and Project Support: While providing first point of contact customer centric service, coordinate with supervisor on the establishment of efficient processes and systems, assist prospective students, faculty and staff with college procedures and policies. Support special projects as assigned by the supervisor. Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain proficiency in software, hardware, and key applications such as but not limited to Colleague, Recruit, T4, and Tableau.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher

Minimum of three years of project management experience, preferably in admissions and/or health care

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including but not limited to speaking in and to the public, de-escalation, composition, editing, grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills.

Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships. Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment, the ability to deal tactfully with all internal and external constituents and the ability to work collegiately with a culturally diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors daily. This position requires an on-campus presence.

Advanced knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Power Point, Publisher Outlook, Word), Adobe, Snag It, Teams, Zoom, Social Media platforms and web page design.

Highly resourceful team-player, who possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently and think critically.

Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and have the ability to handle conflict when necessary.
