Position Summary
The Audio Visual (AV) Services Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, daily operations, and continuous improvement of audio-visual services across the college. This position leads a team of AV technicians to support classroom and administrative AV technology and events. The manager ensures reliable AV service delivery, oversees equipment lifecycle planning and maintenance, and collaborates with faculty, staff, and IT leadership to align AV solutions with academic and institutional goals. A strong focus on effective team leadership, vendor management, and customer service is essential to support a dynamic learning environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and leads the Audio Visual Services team, providing mentorship, performance management, and professional development opportunities. Responsible for setting goals, identifying professional development opportunities, processing leave, and fostering a positive and supportive environment where staff are motivated and accountable.
Oversees the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV equipment in instructional and administrative spaces, ensuring technology is operational and supports effective teaching and learning. Provides hands-on technical support for escalated problems.
Coordinates with external AV vendors for procurement, installation, maintenance, and support of AV systems. Evaluates vendor performance, manages service contracts, and ensures vendors meet technical specifications, timelines, and institutional standards.
Coordinates the delivery of AV services for campus events, meetings, and presentations, including setup, operation, and teardown of equipment such as microphones, projectors, video systems, and streaming tools.
Ensures proper AV inventory, including tracking, replacement planning, and procurement of new equipment to support audiovisual and event needs.
Leads technology projects, ensuring they follow project management best practices and comply with IIT security and accessibility standards. Works closely with faculty, staff, IT teams, and campus leadership to assess AV needs, recommend solutions, and ensure alignment with college-wide technology initiatives. Works with stakeholders to define requirements, ensure proper testing, and oversee adherence to change management procedures.
Oversees the development and maintenance of technical standards, operating procedures, and documentation for AV systems, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and accessibility requirements.
Collaborates with the Service Desk, Asset Management, and Client Services teams to streamline support operations and improve service delivery.
Acts as a backup supervisor within Technology Support Services, as needed. Stays current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in audiovisual and higher education IT services.
Weekend, evening, and on-call hours may be required as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in AV and technical support, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role of technical staff.
Bachelor’s degree. Individual may substitute a bachelor’s degree with an associate’s degree in a related discipline and two additional years of technical support experience (totaling 7 years of AV and technical support).
Demonstrated knowledge with audiovisual services and technologies including control systems and components (Crestron, Extron, Biamp), video projection units, monitors, audio systems, and web conferencing tools.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring technical teams. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools, asset management, and ticketing systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users at all levels of the institution.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must have a growth mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a higher education IT environment.
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
