Position Summary
The Testing Specialist will administer and proctor examinations for AACC students, prospective students, community members, and certification candidates. The Bilingual Testing Specialist must have excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish. Testing Specialist must keep exam security at the forefront of their work while providing excellent customer service to a diverse population. This position must respond to student needs, use ADA technology, and provide support to students, staff, faculty, and community members. Note: In-person work is an essential function of this position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and score placement tests. Includes interviewing, assessing, and counseling students concerning background, test results, and course placement as well as referring any students to college resources as appropriate.
Administration of certification testing, including CLEP, Pearson Vue, Scantron, Certiport, and TEAS. Testing Specialists are required to acquire and maintain certification to proctor these exams.
Administer make-up, hybrid, online, and special exams; ensuring testers receive appropriate exam material, monitoring testers during the exam, and reporting any irregularities or misconduct as needed.
Serve as liaison between students, faculty, and staff concerning testing problems or special needs.
Completion of tasks to support office function, including logging exams, scheduling exams, telephone coverage, email response, and maintenance of files.
Provide special testing accommodations for students with disabilities, including special technology, reading/scribing, and other accommodations documented from the DSS office.
Data entry, as needed, in Colleague. Verify all placement records in Colleague before administering placement tests.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree
Six months of relevant experience
In lieu of an AA degree, a high school diploma and an additional 2 years of experience may be substituted.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish text.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and a high level of comfort with learning and using different computer software’s and web-based applications.
The ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including daytime, evening, and weekends, in person at all three test centers and off-site locations
Effective oral and written communication skills, ability, and willingness to deal effectively with students, faculty, and staff while providing exemplary customer services
Ability to work with minimal supervision, with attention to detail
Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of testing procedures, federal, state, and college regulations governing testing services, and of college resources and curriculum requirements
Working knowledge of federal laws and state regulations governing the delivery of services to students with special needs, with experience working in an education setting
Working knowledge of FERPA, experience with test administration
Ability to type accurately at a moderate speed and perform data entry functions accurately

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
