Title: AY 2024-25 CFRE Fish Hatchery Student Technician

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Technicians will assist with the daily operations of the CFRE Fish Hatchery, and support field and lab research as needed. Period of employment: part time, late August 2024 – through May 2025. Responsibilities: routine hatchery operations including culture of Atlantic salmon, care of lake sturgeon, and general maintenance and cleaning. Student technicians will also provide tours of the CFRE Fish Hatchery to prospective students, donors, and collaborators.

Preferred Qualifications:

Special Requirements: Experience and/or interest in pursuing a career in fisheries or aquatic sciences. Applicants may be subject to a background check. Students with Federal Work Study eligibility preferred. Weekend hours available.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and handle fish regularly.
