DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the primary media contact for all athletic programs, coordinating interviews, press inquiries, and official responses.
2. Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote LSSU Athletics through traditional, digital media channels and social media.
3. Manage the LSSU Athletics website, ensuring timely updates of rosters, schedules, results, statistics, all releases in accordance with NCAA and conference guidelines.
4. Lead content creation and oversight of official social media platforms for the department, enhancing fan engagement and program visibility.
5. Produce and distribute releases, game notes, feature stories, and post-game recaps for athletic events.
6. Coordinate and manage live video streaming and broadcasts of home athletic contests, including setup, staffing, and quality assurance in accordance with conference guidelines.
7. Supervise and train full-time staff in the areas of game day operations, sports information, photography, digital media and content creation.
8. Supervise and train student workers and interns in the areas of game day operations, sports information, photography, and digital media.
9. Maintain accurate statistics and historical records for all sports, ensuring timely and correct submission to the NCAA, conference, and other governing bodies.
10. Collaborate with coaches and athletic staff to develop storytelling opportunities and publicity strategies that highlight student-athletes, teams, and achievements.
11. Design and produce official publications such as game programs, media guides, recruiting materials, and postseason promotional content.
12. Coordinate with the NCAA, GLIAC, CCHA, and other affiliated organizations for weekly and postseason award nominations, as well as compliance with media requirements.
13. Manage credentialing and press accommodations for home events, including photographers, broadcasters, and reporters.
14. Maintain and organize the department’s multimedia archive, including photography, video, and historical documentation.
15. Support athletic fundraising and marketing initiatives by providing communication assets and event coverage as needed.
16. Participate as a key member of the department’s leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, brand management, and community outreach efforts.
17. Serve on the LSSU Athletic Hall of Fame Committee.
18. Preform other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director.
