Position Summary

Custodial positions with Elon University are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout all assigned areas.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Job Duties

• Maintain Cleanliness of Campus.
  • Clean all areas of the assigned building.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Short list of cleaning duties are as follows: Remove trash and replenish all dispensers, paper products and soap. Dust furniture and all woodwork, sweep and vacuum floors daily. Clean and sanitize all bathrooms and showers in assigned areas as well as counter tops and stalls 
• Custodial Closets/Equipment.
  • Maintain custodial closets in a neat and orderly fashion. Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Maintain Cleaning Equipment 
• Reporting Maintenance Issues Found on Campus
  • Notify the proper channels with repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems are needed. 
• Building Safety and Security
  • Use of wet floor signs, bathroom cleaning signs, and other safety signs when appropriate. 
• Annual Training. Perform other duties deemed necessary by the shift supervisor. Attend and utilize information provided by yearly training.
