Position Summary
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for maintaining all employee data from the time a new hire starts with Elon, until they leave. This includes onboarding materials and establishing their employment record in colleague, any changes while employed, and offboarding. In addition, this position manages adjunct contract by semester, faculty and staff immigration cases, and much more.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED with less than 1 year of experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree in business or related field
Job Duties
- Manage Employee Accounts
- Maintain employment records related to hiring and terminations using colleague, eDocs, and Adobe Sign.
- New Hires - Collect new hire paperwork, assign colleague account and position in the system, ensure payroll receives the proper paperwork to process payroll.
- Terminations - Process termination paperwork for exiting employees. Notify employee of all important information pertinent to their current situation and notify campus of their exit so that each department can process accordingly.
- Process Personnel Action Requests
- Maintain employment records related to events, such as title changes, department transfers, or promotions, leave of absences and much more.
- Adjunct Contract Information Forms
- Process adjunct contract information forms each semester for the following colleges: Love School of Business, Jo Watts Williams School of Education, School of Communication, School of Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Nursing, School of Law
- Responsible for sending individual letters of agreement to each adjunct faculty member via Adobe Sign.
- Benefit Enrollment and Termination
- Enroll new employee in the following benefit vendors: BCBS Health, Delta Dental, VSP Vision, Lincoln Life Insurance, and Flores.
- Terminate all benefits in the following benefit vendors when employment ceases: BCBS Health, Delta Dental, VSP Vision, Lincoln Life Insurance, and Flores.
- Ensure that payroll receives the proper benefit forms to deduct premiums from each pay.
