Position Summary
This position works under the direction of the Assistant Director of Building Trades and the Lead Painter and performs the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained indoor and outdoor protected coated surfaces.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
Three to five years of related experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic understanding of coatings and their applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Required Other Training, Certifications, or Licensing
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver License and be insurable by the college carrier.
Job Duties
- Applying interior and exterior paints, stains, sealants, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming surfaces including drywall, plaster, wood and metal.
- Performing trim work, blending, color matching, and detailed finishing to meet campus standards.
- Completing minor drywall, plaster and wood repairs prior to painting.
- Cleaning, maintaining and properly storing tools, equipment and materials; ensuring safe handling and inventory of supplies.
- Following OSHA, EPA and university safety protocols, including PPE use, chemical handling, ventilation practices, and safe equipment operation.
