Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Through mentorship, guidance, and camaraderie, we aim to achieve successful integration of veterans, service members, and their family members in their academic experience while honoring their military values. This position engages with new military affiliated students, drawing on their own experiences and military culture, to offer meaningful support, encouragement, and resources to their peers, promoting academic achievement, personal growth, and a sense of belonging within the university community.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Outreach via email and phone to all new students during all stages of the enrollment process including, prospective, admitted, matriculated, and registered.
- Assist with Orientation program (on campus and online).
- Assist with Military New Student Info Session & Lunch during Welcome Weekend.
- Maintain communication with new students throughout first year offering assistance with questions regarding VA (Veterans Affairs) benefit process, spring course registration process, etc.
- Attend VMS programming throughout academic year.
- Staff the reception desk in the Veteran & Military Services office (McCannel 170) to greet students/families/visitors, answer phone calls, cover office email account, and other office duties as assigned.
- Conduct program training as required.

Minimum Requirements
- Computer experience with email, internet, and Microsoft Office suite
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
