Purpose of Position

Health & Wellness Peer Educators serve as members of the Wellness & Health Promotion Team at UND. In this position you will engage with UND students using presentations, programs, and outreach initiatives to support students in reaching their personal health and academic goals. Peer educators also serve as positive role models and leaders at UND by demonstrating good judgment, ethical behavior, and respect for others and self, especially in relation to health and wellness issues.

This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and assess health & wellness programs and outreach activities that educate UND students on a variety of health topics.
  • Facilitate presentations and workshops for fellow students throughout campus, including the residence halls, Greek community, University Life classes, and other settings.
  • Assist with major Health & Wellness programming and events and/or initiatives as assigned.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Participate in all staff trainings prior to the start of classes.
  • Complete Certified Peer Educator course
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Personal interest in health and wellness issues facing college students
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED, or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire. (Training provided by the Wellness Center at no cost for employees)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
