Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position open only to current UND students.

The student in this role will be a key member of the Simulation Center team, assisting with the preparation and execution of healthcare training simulations. Duties may include setting up and taking down simulation rooms, preparing manikins and moulage, organizing equipment, and supporting technology used in simulation scenarios.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and take down simulation rooms, preparing realistic environments for student and professional training.
  • Move and position high-fidelity manikins for different cases. Create Realism with Moulage: Apply makeup, props, and other effects to manikins to simulate real injuries and medical conditions.
  • Assist with computers, audio/visual equipment, and other tech that powers our simulations (training provided; tech-savvy applicants encouraged).
  • Help with inventory, cleaning rooms, and maintaining equipment after simulations. Pitch In Where Needed: Take on other duties to support the team and events. 

Required Competencies

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills in moulage, simulation technology, and equipment handling.
  • Attention to detail when setting up, cleaning, or organizing simulation spaces.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have accepted a Federal Work Study award from the Office of Student Finance.
  • Must be able to work on-site at the UND School of Medicine Simulation Center for an average of 10–12 hours per week.
  • Current UND student in good standing.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
