Summary:  Join our team as an Energy Efficiency Specialist! You'll conduct energy assessments, calculate savings, and advise clients on best practices for various energy technologies (lighting, HVAC, industrial processes). Responsibilities include client outreach, presentations, technical/financial analysis, and proposal development for federal and corporate funding.

Classification Summary:
Under general supervision, performs an assortment of engineering duties such as the planning of manufacturing, and the installation, operation, and maintenance of complex apparatus. Performs complex activities in the use of devices and energy for commercial, domestic, and industrial use. Works directly with engineers in other disciplines to augment production size and value.

Classification Standard Duties:
May carry out feasibility studies for new technical innovations. Draws up plans and specifications for projects, using computer-assisted engineering and design software. Estimates material, construction, and labor costs, and project timescales. May coordinate technicians and craftspeople. Tests installations and systems, and analyzing data making sure projects meet applicable safety regulations. Oversees inspection and maintenance programs. Attends meetings, writing reports and giving presentations to managers and clients.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Required Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering.; Required Experience:Three (3) years of

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct energy efficiency assessments, calculate energy efficiency, and write reports. Work with other staff on the best practices for various energy savings technologies including lighting, HVAC, fans, pumps, air compression, and industrial process use. Conduct outreach and consult with the owners, facility managers, and contractors on energy efficiency options.

Plan and deliver presentations at meetings and training events to the business owners, managers, and employees. Such presentations will include professional societies. Complete technical and financial analyses after assessment and prepare reports. Assist in the preparation of federal and corporate funding proposals. Create new opportunities by preparing and submitting new project proposals to national funding agencies. Perform site-specific engineering analysis and evaluation of energy efficiency projects and programs involving industrial process equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressed air systems, complex central plant systems, and advanced HVAC equipment. Perform building energy use assessments and simulations using software packages such as eQuest, DOE2.2, EnergyPro, etc. Review and verify energy savings calculations.
