Classification Summary:
Under supervision, performs work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult, but usually involves limited responsibility. Responsible for overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
Classification Standard Duties:
Designs, implements/installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately. Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures. Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures. Generally focuses on projects for one of the following disciplines: Unix, Windows, AS400, storage, reporting, testing, middleware, or other software.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will oversee the Graduate School’s current IT system demands and allow the Graduate School to develop and manage improvements in the technical systems. The IT operations will help streamline admissions with routine oversight and updates needed for Slate. The position will develop automated academic forms in Slate that feed to BDMS to be part of student’s academic record. This employee will leverage their IT skills to coordinate with ICT, Global, and SSEM in the design, implementation, and maintenance of both hardware and software infrastructures needed for external recruitment initiatives, internal admissions processes, student tracking, and degree certification. The technical demands on the unit will continue over time with this expertise being essential for ensuring more modern and automated systems at every level of operation.
