We are seeking a candidate to support the launch and growth of our new inline Master of Science (M.S.) in GIS&T program.

Classification Standard Duties:
The ideal candidate will: 1) teach five online asynchronous courses per academic year (most are 4-credit hour classes); 2) advise and mentor graduate students in the program; and 3) play a key role in developing and implementing the program.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
Ph.D. in Geography or a related field by the time of appointment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expertise in GIS&T disciplines, including cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, programming, and spatial analysis and modeling.
Ability to actively promote collaboration, foster student engagement, and embrace a broad range of perspectives in both teaching and research.
Experience working with students across a range of academic backgrounds, disciplines, and levels of preparation and motivation.
Experience and/or formal training in online teaching, with proficiency in learning management systems and digital instructional tools to deliver 100% asynchronous classes.
Ability to contribute to the growth and success of the online M.S. in GIS&T program through curriculum development, graduate student mentoring, and outreach at NMSU and beyond.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teach five online asynchronous GIS&T courses per academic year.
Assist with the mentoring of master’s students in the online M.S. in GIS&T program.
Support the development and implementation of the online M.S. in GIS&T program.
