About Us: KRWG Public Media is seeking a skilled, and highly motivated professional for the position of Broadcast Tech. This position is responsible for all facets of technical support for a dynamic public media outlet that serves Southwestern NM and West Texas. The ideal candidate will perform preventive maintenance and major repairs on solid state electronic and broadcast equipment.
We are located in beautiful Las Cruces, NM with over 300 days of sunshine annually. We offer a generous benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, retirement pension, tuition benefits and much more. Starting salary, $34,548.80, D.O.E.
Classification Summary:
Under general supervision, installs, operates, maintains, and repairs broadcast equipment. Assists with performing functional and operational testing procedures. Assists with maintaining documentation in compliance with Federal Communication Commission rules and regulations, as applicable to the position.
Classification Standard Duties:
Maintain video and audio air signal to FCC requirements. Following and maintaining Operations Logs, Transmitter Logs, Record Logs, and EAS Logs. Trouble shoot problems with programs, either playing or recording, as to source of problem. Shade and monitor studio camera control units for live programming.Assisting TV Engineering and other station personnel with projects necessary for broadcast operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of broadcast systems circuitry, design, and/or installation.; SKILLS:Skill in the configuration and use of computerized database programs.; ABILITIES:Ability to test systems and/or operations in compliance with published standards.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain broadcast station equipment and technology.
Troubleshoot problems with transmissions
Work with engineers to test and integrate new systems.
Assist with production tasks such as lighting and camera work
Monitor and adjust signal strength and clarity during broadcasts
