Classification Summary:
- Prepare for and teach 30 credit hours over Fall and Spring semesters in the Computer and Information Technology Department.
- Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekends, online, and/or multiple campus locations
- Serve as the lead instructor for multi-section curses.
- Develop and teach online courses.
- Conduct classroom assessment of student learning and participate in program, department, and college assessment
- Collaborate with department faculty to revise and update course curriculum to stay current within the discipline and workplace trends
- Develops, revises and updates program curricula in collaboration with faculty, including online courses
- Instruct, support, advise, and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy and procedures
- Function as advisor to students, both individually and to student clubs and groups
- Participate in and serve on department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces, and working groups
- Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities.
- Maintain office hours as mandated by division and college policy
- Participate in department/program student recruitment and advising events
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Classification Standard Duties:
Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology or a related field combined with one of the following criteria:
▫ 18 credits of postgraduate computer technology education, or
▫ three years of documented related business/industry work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree must be in hand by date of hire.
• Obtaining a Master’s degree or maintaining a CompTIA Security+ Certification are requirements for tenure.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or a field related to Computer and Information Technology.
• Community college teaching experience incorporating assessment of student learning, engaging student participation, hands-on teaching strategies, and learning technologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating a commitment to engage and work collaboratively with students, colleagues, staff, supervisors, and the community.
• Experience improving instructional quality by reviewing, utilizing, and innovating: curriculum methodologies; engaging techniques for traditional and distance education delivery; and continuing professional development.
• Five or more years of professional experience directly related to Computer Information Technology.
• Industry-recognized certification in cybersecurity, networks, operating systems, and/or programming.
• Endorsement of the teaching philosophy of DACC that supports a goal of success for all students through hands-on learning experiences, strong faculty involvement, and proactive curriculum development.
• Bilingual competence in Spanish and English.
