Summary: Temporary Pool for Alarm Tech, Assc.
This is a temporary appointment with a pre-determined end date not to exceed 1 year and is subject to an earlier termination if necessary. Temporary employees have no entitlement or expectation of continued employment during or beyond the appointment period. Position may average up to 29 hours per week.
Classification Summary:
Under direct supervision follows standard procedures and written instructions.Maintains/repairs telecommunications network equipment at a site or organizational location. Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams and electrical schematics. Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information. Performs routine maintenance and provides training and technical assistance to users .
Classification Standard Duties:
Troubleshoots and repairs routine problems in telephones and other communication equipment. Locates and repairs equipment documented with trouble reports. Tests and adjusts equipment as necessary.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned..

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, assists with installation, maintenance, and repairs of fire alarm systems, security systems, door access systems, and other special systems. Assists with reading, interpreting, and modifying electronic controls. Write reports containing technical information. Knowledge and skills with a work order system and computers. Procure necessary tools, supplies, and test equipment for required work. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

This position has been established as a primary key position under the “All Hazard Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)” and is essential to operational continuity and/or recovery. In an emergency situation, primary key positions are required to report to work unless directed by supervisor or public safety authorities not to report for health and safety reasons.

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
