Job Duties and Responsibilities: Advise students about the requirement for academic programs and the selection of required courses at NMSU-A. Assist students in identifying degree programs based on their interests as identified by Interest Inventory. Monitor the students' progression towards a degree and implement intervention strategies for students who are placed on academic warning or probation. Be aware of program, institutional and state requirements to be awarded a degree, be able to clarify these requirements to students and ensure they are progressing towards a degree. Conduct degree audits to ensure students meet all the requirements to be awarded a degree or certificate. Keep current with the academic programs, so accurate and consistent information is provided to the students. Participate in new student orientation and advise incoming students and evaluate placement scores. Actively participate in the implementation of the retention plan. Prepare, organize and maintain accurate student records. Coordinate and facilitate academic planning and career development workshops. Review the transcripts of students who petition for admissions to determine their eligibility for admissions. Participate in recruitment events.
