Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $43,908.80 - $54,885.74 (Commensurate with qualifications)

Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Not Applicable

Standard Work Schedule: Shift: Other Shift

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: Admissions Services hours are from 8am-6pm M-Th, and 8am-5pm F. Individual schedules will be determined by the employee and supervisor, individuals will not be required to work more than 40 hours per week without prior notice.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: An Admissions Advisor is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process of the college. They provide information on admission requirements, academic programs, financial aid, and student services. Admissions Advisors also assist students in filling out applications, submitting required documents, and scheduling campus tours or interviews. They evaluate students’ academic qualifications and help them choose the right program that suits their career goals and interests. Admissions Advisors act as a liaison between prospective students and the school, ensuring a smooth transition into their academic journey.

Outreach & Recruitment
• Visit high schools across New Mexico to promote DACC’s programs.
• Represent DACC at college fairs, school visits, and virtual events.
• Host and support Application Days, helping high school seniors complete the admissions process.
• Initiates contact with students, parents, high school counselors, high school teachers and communicates specifics about the culture & academic programs offered by DACC
• Collaborates with NMSU Admissions Advisors on recruitment events

Student & Family Engagement
• Assist students with admissions steps: application submission, account creation, orientation registration, and advising appointments.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective students, families, and community stakeholders.
• Present information sessions on DACC’s academic offerings, student services, and support resources.
• Stay informed about residency requirements and admissions policies to ensure accurate information is provided.

Campus Engagement
• Organize and lead campus tours tailored to prospective students’ interests and needs.
• Plan and host on-campus and off-campus events focused on recruitment, enrollment, and community involvement.
• Work closely with departments like Financial Aid, Academic Advising, and Orientation to streamline the recruitment process.
• Works collaboratively with other departments

Marketing & Promotion
• Help develop and distribute promotional materials (brochures, flyers, digital content).
• Contribute to online outreach efforts to raise awareness of DACC opportunities.
• Disseminates pertinent information, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Data & Strategy
• Track recruitment activities and analyze data to measure effectiveness.
• Use insights to refine strategies and enhance future recruitment efforts.
• Cross-trained in Veteran Admissions Process, and Testing.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Preferred Bilingual
• Preferred Banner & Slate experience

Special Certification/Licensure: 
• Must be able to obtain NMSU Drivers permit within 6 months of hire.

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
