Advertising Summary: The Center of Innovation (COI) is looking for a Program Specialist, Sr. COI. The COI provides training and program implementation support to address the pressing need to strengthen and expand the behavioral health and other child and family serving systems in New Mexico.

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Contingent upon external funding

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide training and program oversight for peer support training and certification programs for the NMSU Center of Innovation for Behavioral Health and Wellbeing, primarily New Mexico Youth Peer Support and related youth support programs. Design and develop programming and support activities for youth and young adults with lived experience in the behavioral health, child welfare, juvenile justice and related systems. Develop and implement community outreach and education materials and events. Work closely with Family Peer Support, High-Fidelity Wraparound and related programs towards an integrated system of care across the state. Must have professional experience working with youth, strong training and public presentation skills, and be highly organized and computer proficient.

Design and develop youth development programs for the NMSU Center of Innovation for Behavioral Health and Wellbeing. Serve as primary representative for youth and young adult focused programming within the Center and with external community partners.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Direct experience with youth peer support or related programs in New Mexico, Certified in MHFA or related mental health training curricula, Spanish language proficiency.

Candidate must be able to travel occasionally to deliver programing.

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
