Target Hourly/Salary Rate: $48,332.54 Commensurate with qualifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provides proposal development support by identifying, analyzing, and distributing requests for proposals. Reviews and prepares small to large and complex proposal submissions with accuracy to enhance the ability of NMSU to conduct research and retain high-quality researchers and students. Identifies strategic funding opportunities. Reviews multiple sources of funding opportunities via the web, non publicly accessible systems, and other sponsor-specific platforms. Matches researchers to opportunities. Disseminates information as applicable. Supports faculty and research staff in the planning and development of proposals, including large interdisciplinary proposals. Assembles timelines. Proofs technical responses. Works as lead project manager through proposal submission. Provides ongoing training and helpful materials. Creates sponsor-specific online and face-to-face training opportunities. Develops toolkits and handouts as reference materials for researchers.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent Qualifications: 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Bachelor's degree in a related field: Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
