The Opportunity
We are looking for a Chef/Cook to join our team at Gumleigh Gardens, a 29-bed aged care living facility in Wagga Wagga. A great opportunity exists, with availability required on weekends, for someone to perform cooking and kitchen duties.
We are seeking people to provide a high standard of quality care to facility residents, by preparing, cooking, and the presentation of nutritious meals that meet the dietary and cultural needs of aged care residents, while ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
What you will bring to the role:
- Experienced in bulk cooking, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting
- Knowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards to HACCP level
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Understanding of residents rights, person-centred care and dignity of risk
- Ability to manage change efficiently and effectively
- Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and Special Dietary needs
- Experience in Aged Care desirable
- Current First Aid Certificate desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player who is highly motivated
- Availability to work weekend shifts

Pre-employment screening
