The Opportunity
We are looking for a Food Services Assistant to join our team at Gumleigh Gardens, a 29-bed aged care living facility in Wagga Wagga. A great opportunity exists, with availability required on across weekdays and weekends, for someone to join our catering team to ensure the smooth running of food services. This includes maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas, assisting with meal preparation and supporting the serving and delivery of meals.
We are seeking people to provide a high standard of quality care to facility residents, by providing and maintaining a high standard of food service within the facility. Working under the direction and reports to the Head Chef, the FSA ensures that all food is prepared, presented, and served in accordance with residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and clinical requirements
Shift rosters available include:
- 7 am - 3 pm and
- 3 pm - 7 pm
What you will bring to the role:
- Food handler basic training (Food Authority) or equivalent
- Experienced in preparation, serving and delivery of fresh meals
- Experience in table service and clearing duties
- Experience in working in a fast-paced kitchen and or bulk food preparation – desirable
- Knowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards to HACCP level
- Experience in Aged Care desirable
- Current First Aid Certificate desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player who is highly motivated
- Availability to work various shifts across various days
