We are currently seeking a caring and reliable Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our friendly team at Gumleigh Gardens Hostel in the Riverina Murray Region.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing nutritious, home-style meals for our residents.

You will support the delivery of high-quality food services while helping create a warm and welcoming dining experience for residents.

Weekend availability is required, with shifts available across various days and times.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with meal preparation and cooking fresh meals
  • Supporting kitchen operations and food service delivery
  • Table service and clearing duties
  • Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Working collaboratively with the care and hospitality team
  • Helping provide a positive dining experience for residents

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in meal preparation and cooking
  • Experience working in kitchens or bulk food preparation environments
  • Understanding of food safety and HACCP standards
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends
  • Aged care experience (desirable)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
