  • Greenacre and Londonderry, currently 3 days per week, with hybrid working 

About the role:     

As Program Manager, you will lead the Safety of Alternative and Renewable Energy Technologies (SARET) Research Program, delivering applied research that directly informs operational practice, policy and strategic decision-making.

You’ll drive a complex, multi-stakeholder program—ensuring strong governance, high-quality insights, and meaningful outcomes that support safer responses to new and evolving risks.

You will have:

  • Strong understanding of risks associated with emerging energy technologies (e.g. lithium-ion batteries, energy storage systems, solar) and their operational and regulatory impacts
  • Proven experience leading large-scale research or program initiatives that inform decision-making and risk reduction
  • Expertise in program governance, including ethical research and data management practices
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across diverse sectors
  • Strong financial management capability, including budgeting and reporting
  • Ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering, science, research, public policy, risk management or a related field) and/or extensive relevant experience in leading complex research or program delivery.
