About the role:
This key leadership role leads the strategic design and delivery of integrated people and culture strategies across Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) operationalising the strategic direction set by the Executive Director, People & Culture, and encompassing human resources, organisational development, workforce planning, analytics, and leadership capability.
In addition, this role:
- Drives evidence-based initiatives that enhance engagement, build workforce capability, and support FRNSW’s strategic objectives. As a senior executive within the People & Culture Directorate, the Director provides authoritative advice to the Executive Leadership Team, leads the implementation of whole-of-agency people strategies, and ensures alignment with government and organisational priorities.
- Champions a values-led, inclusive and high-performing workforce through frameworks that enable leadership development, talent mobility, succession planning, and data-informed decision-making.
About you:
You are an experienced leader with a proven record of achievement in executive-level leadership within human resources, organisational development, or people and culture functions in a complex, high-risk or service delivery environment.
You will bring:
- Expertise in contemporary HR strategy, workforce planning, organisational change and leadership development.
- Strong knowledge of workforce governance, risk, compliance and industrial relations frameworks.
- Demonstrated success leading organisation-wide people strategies and transformation initiatives.
- The ability to use workforce insights and analytics to drive strategic outcomes.
- Agility, sound judgement and a collaborative leadership approach in dynamic environments.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources, organisational development, business, or a related field; or extensive senior-level experience in a comparable role.
