Employment Status: Permanent
Days & Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, totalling 35 hours per week plus rostered weekends
Competitive Salary: Band 3 - $69,216.85 p.a. + 12% superannuation
Location: Brighton Library - may be required to work at any Bayside library

About the Role:
Bayside Libraries is focused on delivering outstanding library experiences for our community. Our Libraries offer an inclusive social space offering a range of social opportunities for our community and services including lending of all formats, an extensive local history collection and fantastic e-resources.
As a Library Customer Service Officer, you will the welcoming face of the libraries, providing exceptional customer service to members of the community. A key focus of this role is providing community-centric customer service and supporting our community with accessing library resources and technologies.
You will be responsible for:
- Provide welcoming community focused customer service
- Facilitate access to the collection through membership, promotion, circulation and shelving of library resources
- Provide information to customers about library resources, programs and services
- Support customers to navigate digital technologies
- Assist with promotional activities as directed by the Branch Librarian to grow library membership and usage
- Select items for Home Library Service customers and deliver if required
- Prepare and deliver Adult, Children’s and Outreach programs
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Provide a high-quality customer experience to both external and internal customers
- Provide high quality administrative duties
- Support the delivery of library programs and events
Mandatory pre-employment requirements:
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
