Competitive Salary: Band 5 - $83,038 – $96,886 p.a. (depending on experience) + 12% superannuation
Location: Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

About the Role:
We are seeking an Asset Officer to support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Council’s asset data and Council's Corporate Asset Information Management System (AIMS). In this role, you will collect, validate and maintain asset information, support integrated applications, and help ensure Council has accurate, reliable data to inform planning, renewal and service delivery decisions.
You will be responsible for:
- Accurately record in AIMS the current physical and financial status of assets across their lifecycle from as constructed drawings.
- Asset data is routinely updated through data validation and complete and reliable for planning, reporting and decision-making.
- Asset valuation data is timely, accurate and fit for compliant financial reporting.
- Internal stakeholders are supported to use AIMS consistently and apply sound asset data practices.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in asset management, engineering, GIS, information systems or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent experience in asset management, asset data, GIS or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, maintain, validate and improve asset data, including undertaking field verification, condition inspections, desktop audits and data gap analysis.
- Experience using databases, asset information management systems and/or spatial applications to support accurate asset records, reporting and decision-making.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound attention to detail and the ability to identify data quality issues and recommend practical improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and present asset-related information clearly and accurately.
- Ability to manage time, set priorities and organise work to meet agreed objectives and timeframes.
Mandatory pre-employment requirements:
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
- A valid Victorian drivers licence.
- Be willing to undertake a premedical assessment check (if applicable for the role).
