Executive Director of the Center for International Stabilization and Recovery Harrisonburg
Since our founding in 1996, the Center for International Stabilization and Recovery (CISR), a center of excellence at James Madison University (JMU), has been dedicated to understanding and overcoming global conflict. In fulfilling its mission, CISR produces the industry leading publication, The Journal of Conventional Weapons Destruction, a professional trade publication for the humanitarian mine action and ERW community of practice, and the US Department of State's annual report on conventional weapons destruction, To Walk the Earth in Safety. CISR has also hosted conferences, conducted research studies, provided management training for organizations that clear land contaminated with explosive remnants of war, designed and implemented peer support training for survivors of conflict, conducted capacity-building training for disability rights organizations, and conducted explosive ordnance risk education for communities living with explosive hazard contamination, among other projects. More recently CISR’s work has expanded beyond post-conflict humanitarian mine action and conventional weapons destruction to include international development and capacity building projects such as mentoring the American University of Kurdistan in Iraq to achieve US accreditation, capacity development with the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) based out of University of South Africa, and helping to support the Regional Explosive Hazards Training Centre in Tajikistan. CISR is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization’s strategic mission by providing visionary leadership, ensuring CISR’s financial success, and raising the international profile of the organization. The Executive Director position reports directly to the JMU Associate Vice President of Research and Scholarship and is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of CISR’s administration. Clean Communities & Economic Development Director, Southwest Virginia Harrisonburg
Virginia Clean Cities at James Madison University advances air quality improvement, economic opportunity, and energy security through deployment of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure, education programs, and other petroleum reduction activities. VCC serves the Commonwealth of Virginia and surrounding states through a grant-funded project portfolio. The Clean Communities Economic Development Director, Southwest Virginia will oversee the expansion of efforts to advance air quality improvement, economic opportunity, and energy security through deployment of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure, educational programs, and other petroleum reduction efforts. Initial focus areas encompass Southwest Virginia to the Roanoke Valley. The incumbent will also service as an additional rural environmental stewardship and clean energy economy transition leader for VCC and related programs at JMU in mission to serve all people.
Windows Systems Engineer Harrisonburg
James Madison University Information Technology is currently hiring for a Windows Systems Engineer. As a member of a team of Systems Engineers, the Windows Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for Azure services, including but not limited to compute, management, and governance with additional responsibilities including routine and advanced system administration of cloud and on-premise Windows software and systems.
