General Information:
James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the nursing leadership graduate program. This 10-month full-time appointment at the rank of assistant professor will begin in January 2026. The School of Nursing (SON) offers CCNE accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. The responsibilities of this position will focus on nursing leadership graduate program needs in online teaching, clinical practicum oversight, MSN and DNP project supervision, service, and scholarship. Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
• Teach online and in-person.
• Supervise practicum and/or DNP project development.
• Serve as an academic advisor for graduate nursing students.
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching; scholarship; and professional, community, and/or university service.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Doctorate in nursing or related discipline. Candidates in the final stages of project/dissertation defense will be considered with evidence of continued progress and completion of degree required within six months of the start date.
• Graduate degree in Nursing.
• Experience in leadership roles in nursing or a related field.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the United States and the eligibility for a Virginia nursing license within six months of the start date.
• Demonstrated commitment to advancing inclusive excellence and a sense of belonging.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Recent experience in nursing leadership or administrative roles in hospital, clinic, or academic settings.
• Experience teaching in a DNP program.
• Evidence of scholarly activity through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, grants, or creative works.
