General Information:
At James Madison University, Well Dukes is seeking a Coordinator of Wellness Programs to supervise undergraduate student peer educators and assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of various wellness programs. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Residential Well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain various wellness programs with established learning outcomes and assessment plans based upon identified student needs. Topic areas include but are not limited to bystander intervention, sexual and relationship health, substance misuse prevention, digital wellness, and sleep
- Coordinate campus-wide bystander intervention initiative, including assistance with development and marketing materials and outreach to campus partners, organizations, and the JMU student community
- Provide coordination and oversight of campus safer sex stations including marketing, inventory control, utilization tracking, and ordering supplies
- Recruit, hire and train relevant staff including the peer educators
- Set clear expectations, provide ongoing training and feedback, hold one-on-one and staff meetings as needed, and conduct regular performance evaluations
- Collaborate on budget proposals and development of the strategic direction for wellness programming and peer educators
- Oversee scheduling and tracing of wellness programs, participation, and pee educator payroll within budget parameters using provided software, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
- Support implementation and administration of a comprehensive evaluation plan to assess the impact of personal well-being initiatives
- Participate as a collaborative member of the Health Promotion team to develop strategic campus and community partnerships
- Maintain an active role in departmental, division, and university committees as appropriate

- Demonstrated previous relevant experience
- Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation
- Ability to effectively collaborate with partners to develop shared outcomes
- Experience serving diverse populations, with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion
Additional Considerations
- Experience in wellness programming development, implementation, and evaluation
- Professional experience in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of current and emerging college student health and well-being needs and trends
- Experience supervising student employees and/or advising peer health educators
