General Information:

The Facilities Management's Engineering Department is seeking to hire an intern to assist with several unique mapping projects. Work will consist of a mix of indoor office environment and outdoor field data collections with the majority of time expected to be in the field. Will be expected to work approximately 10-15 hours per week through the spring semester. Position will be flexible with start and end dates. May be extended into the summer depending upon department need.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Collecting of campus utilities data
•Heads up digitizing and map making for the department
•Assisting Facilities Management staff with additional GIS projects as needed

 

Qualifications:

•Must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program with major coursework in Geography, GIS, GPS, Cartography, and Geospatial Analysis.
•Experience with ArcGIS product suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Pro etc.)
•Data collection experience using advanced GPS units (preferably survey grade).
•Ability to carry GPS equipment essential (15-20lbs).
•Ability to work long periods of time outside in various weather conditions.

Conditions of Employment:  

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
