General Information:
JMU’s School of Professional & Continuing Education (SPCE) collaborates with individuals, business, and communities through transformative educational programs and experiences. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off-campus degree and certificate programs. SPCE seeks a marketing coordinator to assist the director of marketing in increasing visibility, enrollment, retention, and community engagement in all areas of the SPCE portfolio using marketing strategies, social media, digital marketing campaigns, and other areas of the marketing plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a robust understanding of the SPCE mission and our commitment to access and inclusion.
Assist in creating and implementing print, digital, and other media marketing materials for all areas of the SPCE portfolio, utilizing Canva, Adobe Suite, Social Media platforms, Cascade, and other provided software.
Meet deadlines which will require excellent time management.
Update regularly and regularly creating new content for social media platforms.
Collaborate with other areas of the university and community to build trusting relationships which can benefit all parties.
Attend SPCE events to document and collect marketing content.
Update and manage photo files, video files, and other marketing content.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of web content, social media, and print design, and development
Ability to work independently and as part of a team meeting deadlines
Ability to be focused and self-motivated
Ability to analyze situations and enhance communication and relationship building
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong listening and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and Canva
