General Information:
The Cash & Investments Office seeks a Payment Disbursements Accountant to support the university's mission. We enhance the university's financial resources with reliable, comprehensive and timely cash management services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage electronic and paper disbursement functions. Ensure information posted is complete and accurate. Manage assigned bank reconciliations. Manage the university's electronic payables applications. Provide courteous and timely service when working with vendors to paid electronically, campus customers and external contacts such as auditors and bank representatives. Coordinate scheduled system testing processes for department as required. Serves as backup for designated staff positions as needed. Learns and abides by relevant university policies and procedures. Assists with updating departmental procedures as appropriate.
Qualifications:
-General working knowledge of accounting principles as defined by GAAP.
-General working knowledge of office procedures and practices.
-The ability to work independently with minor supervision.
-Ability to work effectively with employees both within the department and across the University community.
-Ability to work effectively under pressure when necessary to meet deadlines.
-Expertise in Excel or a comparable spreadsheet tool.
