General Information:
The College of Business at James Madison University is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Senior Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative, fiscal, supervisory, and event-planning support within the Dean’s Office. This position plays a key role in supporting academic leadership, faculty, staff, and major College initiatives. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Provide fiscal assistance with faculty and staff purchasing using small purchase credit card and assist with orders through the eVA procurement system.
- Supervise full-time and part-time administrative assistants who support departmental faculty and Academic Unit Heads in Showker Hall, providing leadership, coordination, and performance feedback.
- Assist in coordinating major College of Business events such as awards ceremonies, Business Plan competitions, and academic celebrations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Demonstrated experience with administrative operations, purchasing, and basic fiscal processes.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all work.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams and administrative information systems.
