General Information:

The mission of the Office of Admissions is to support the university's commitment to excellence by recruiting, accepting and enrolling those students who are able to contribute to and benefit from the university's challenging array of academic and extracurricular programs. The Program Support Technician provides clerical, organizational, and data support to the admission process.

  1. Supports the application process with corrections to applicant data, withdraws, and data management support.
  2. Supports the admissions Constituent Relationship Management tool with record consolidation.
  3. Manages the financial records of application fees and maintains an accurate accounting for audit purposes.
  4. Serves as administrative assistant to the Senior Associate Director of admissions and provides support to the administration of the student athlete admission process.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the application process by reviewing and correcting applicant data, processing applicant withdrawals, and providing accurate data management and system support throughout the recruitment lifecycle. Supports the Senior Associate Director in the planning, configuration, testing, and implementation of the Oracle Student Cloud solution, with specialized knowledge of admissions functionality within the student information system. Serves as a valued partner in the university's enterprise implementation of Oracle Student Cloud.
  • Serves as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, delivering high-level administrative support. Assists with the coordination, tracking, and documentation of the student-athlete admissions process in compliance with institutional and NCAA requirements.
  • Supports the admissions Constituent Relationship Management tool with record consolidation.
  • Manages and maintains accurate financial records for application fees, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and audit requirements. Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison for the University Business Office, Financial Reporting, Procurement Services, and State Auditors.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information in compliance with institutional and federal guidelines.
  • Customer service mindset with a welcoming, solutions oriented approach to supporting prospective students and campus partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in the Windows operating environment and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience working with JMU’s PeopleSoft Student Administration (SA) system and Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) systems (or similar databases)
