General Information:
The Ethical Reasoning in Action (ERiA) Student Content Creator/ Social Media Assistant will support the mission of ERiA by creating and sharing content that promotes instructional programs, highlights student engagement, and increases awareness of ethical reasoning initiatives across campus. This role is responsible for managing ERiA’s digital platforms, designing promotional materials for event marketing, and supporting outreach efforts. This position requires candidates to be self-motivating, creative, detail-oriented, and interested in communicating the value of ethical and informed decision-making to JMU and beyond.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create engaging, accessible, and brand-aligned digital content, including graphics, captions, photos, videos, and social media posts that highlight Ethical Reasoning in Action programs, events, and student experiences.
• Promote workshops, events, resources, and initiatives through social media, email communications, newsletters, and digital signage across campus.
• Manage and update ERiA's digital platforms, ensuring content is timely and accurate and responding professionally to messages and comments.
• Attend key programs and events to capture photos and videos, support event logistics, and organize digital media files.
• Collaborate with ERiA staff, faculty, students, and campus partners to identify storytelling and other content opportunities.
• Additional responsibilities include attending required meetings and training sessions, submitting timesheets by established deadlines, and completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, and digital communication.
• Creativity and content creation skills, including experience or interest in Canva, photography, videography, and social media marketing.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• The ability to work independently, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
