Off-Campus Life Community Assistant - IE

Off-Campus Life (OCL) student Community Assistants provide front-line customer service both in the OCL office and in The Pantry, answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting walk-in guests. Community Assistants help students navigate the transition process of moving into the Harrisonburg community by informing them of available resources and educating them on best practices. Community Assistants also help create a welcoming environment in The Pantry, a free food resource for students experiencing food insecurity, while maintaining inventory and upkeep of the space. Additionally, our Community Assistants help with several programs throughout the year to help build community for our off-campus and commuter student population and to help students gain the skills and knowledge needed to make informed decisions in their off-campus communities. |
Disability Services Graduate Assistant - Marketing and Communication

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the Marketing and Communications Graduate Assistantship. This role supports the unit’s marketing efforts by managing and creating content for social media, maintaining the ODS website, and advertising events. As a member of the ODS team, the chosen candidate will assist in enhancing accessibility and fostering a sense of belonging for people with disabilities through marketing and communications efforts.
The Marketing and Communications Graduate Assistant will work approximately 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The assistantship provides 18 hours of tuition support for the school year (9 hours per semester) and a stipend of $10,001 for the 2025/2026 school year. |
Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) assists students and organizations in making healthy and safe decisions, creating positive experiences, and providing a space for belonging among FSL students. FSL is a part of the Office of Student Life, whose mission is to foster belonging through the personal growth and development of an engaged citizenry by providing welcoming experiences and spaces.
The role of the Fraternity and Sorority Life Graduate Assistant will include supporting one of the two FSL organization governing councils, assisting in supervision of student office staff, and helping with community wide programming throughout the year.
A graduate assistant in the office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is expected to work 20 hours a week. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary due to the nature of our programming. All graduate assistants in Student Life are expected to attend departmental staff meetings and sponsored professional development opportunities as schedule permits. |

The Shenandoah Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC) seeks a Client and Center Operations Specialist to serve as first point of contact and front office receptionist with responsibility to provide office management, client services, fiscal, and administrative assistance to the Director, Advisors, Stakeholders and Clients of the center. We are seeking qualified applicants who are interested in assisting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Grant funded by the Small Business Administration (SBA), the SBDC has been a Sponsored Program hosted by JMU since 1987. Located near campus, there is easy access to parking and a pleasant work environment with large offices and natural light. As part of the Virginia SBDC Network, the office is supported with professional development opportunities, training and connection with centers throughout the Commonwealth. |
