| AY 2026-2027 Graduate Assistant Mentors serve as key student support professionals within the Centennial Scholars Program and the Reddix Center for First-Generation Student Success. Mentors provide individualized guidance, accountability, and resource navigation to undergraduate first-generation students through structured one-on-one engagement. Mentors play an active role in supporting student persistence, program compliance, and holistic development while working an average of 20 hours per week. |

| The College of Business seeks several graduate assistants to support academic units and centers in the College beginning Fall 2026. Academic units supported include Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems & Business Analytics, Marketing, Business Management, Economics and International Business.
A Graduate Assistants in this role can expect to have the opportunity to develop skills that are likely to be applicable to future employment in any field. These skills will include: Communication, teamwork, project management, time management and independent responsibility. The skills practiced and work products developed can enhance the graduate student’s resume and help the student develop and demonstrate important workplace skills.
Graduate Assistant are expected to work 20 hours per week, primarily during regular business hours 8:00-5:00 M-F. Schedules are set at the beginning of each semester to make sure the GA office is staffed during all required hours. Graduate Assistants must be prepared to work hours on all 5 days of the week. The successful candidate will begin their position when school begins in August 2026.
This is a one-year appointment, which may be renewed for one or more additional years based on program and performance. Graduate Assistants receive a stipend and a 9 CH waiver for each semester. Current annual stipend (2025/2026) is $10,110. |

Horizon’s Edge Sports Campus is partnering with the James Madison University Sport and Recreation Leadership Master’s degree program to offer this graduate assistant position. This is a unique experience where students will work with Horizon’s Edge Sports Campus to gain professional experience in facility, program and event management and attend classes at James Madison University. The GA will take an active role in operational and programmatic tasks such as operational leadership shifts, program administration and facilitation, food and beverage operations, and customer service while developing their leadership skills in the workplace. Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice their risk management and critical thinking skills in this fun, exciting position in a state-of-the-art facility and full-service sports campus.
Graduate assistantships include enrollment in the Sport and Recreation graduate program (Sport & Recreation concentration, preferred) and involve 20 hours of work per week at Horizon’s Edge Sports Campus during the academic school year. Graduate assistants will begin work prior to the start of the school year and the position continues through the end of the academic year. The position includes a stipend and a tuition waiver. Weekend and evening work required. |
