Graduate Assistant-Sport & Recreation Leadership (Rockingham County Public Schools)	Harrisonburg
The Sport and Recreation Leadership master’s degree program invites applications for a 20 hour/week graduate assistantship working with Rockingham County Public Schools for AY 2026-2027. The primary focus of this will be to work hand in hand with the East Rockingham Activities Director to facilitate day to day tasks including scheduling, event management, eligibility checks, purchasing of equipment, and all other tasks needed to provide an exceptional activities/athletic experience for RCPS students. Rockingham County Public Schools is partnering with the James Madison University Sport and Recreation Leadership Master’s degree program to offer this graduate assistant position. This is a unique experience where students will work with Rockingham County Public Schools to gain professional experience in athletic and activities management and attend classes at James Madison University. Graduate assistantships include enrollment in the Sport and Recreation graduate program (Sport & Recreation concentration, preferred) and involve 20 hours of work per week at Rockingham County Public Schools (East Rockingham High School) during the academic school year. Graduate assistants will begin work prior to the start of the school year (August 10, 2026); the position continues through the end of the academic year the following May (May 13, 2027). The position includes a stipend and a tuition waiver.

Fiscal & Administrative Specialist (Part-Time)	Harrisonburg
The Principal Giving team in University Advancement is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join the Principal Giving team as a part-time Fiscal & Administrative Specialist. Reporting to and working closely with the Assistant Vice President for Principal Giving and the Operations Lead, this position requires excellent communication skills, confidentiality, strong attention to accuracy and detail, compliance with JMU’s financial and purchasing rules, the ability to learn new systems and databases, and managing multiple priorities effectively. The main responsibilities of the position are fiscal/financial, including purchasing, processing invoices, receipts and travel expense reimbursements, preparing budget documents, analyzing spending, and maintaining accurate financial records. Other duties include working within the CRM (Affinaquest) to ensure accurate data updates and providing administrative support to office leadership to prepare for meetings with donors. Together, the Operations Lead and the Fiscal & Administrative Specialist bring a cohesive and collaborative approach to the fiscal and operations support of the Principal Giving unit, whose mission is to facilitate transformative philanthropic gifts to JMU from our most financially-capable prospective donors.
Executive Advisor to the Senior VP of University Advancement	Harrisonburg
James Madison University seeks a highly trusted, strategic, and execution-oriented Executive Advisor to support the Vice President for Philanthropy & Engagement. This role serves as a daily partner to the Vice President, functioning as a conduit for action, communication, and follow-through, particularly when the Vice President is traveling. The Executive Advisor ensures continuity of leadership, timely execution of philanthropic and engagement priorities, and effective coordination across the division and with campus partners. This position plays a critical role in advancing major philanthropic conversations, supporting strategic planning, and maintaining strong internal communication and operational momentum.
