Job Summary/Basic Functions
The University is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Senior Budget Analyst to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a detail-oriented and analytical individual who thrives on leveraging data and technology to drive strategic financial decisions within a mission-driven organization. The Senior Budget Analyst will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring the college's operating budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and supporting our long-term financial health. This position supports the strategic financial planning and budget development processes of the institution. Assists in preparing, analyzing, and monitoring the institution's operating and capital budgets. Provides financial data analysis, forecasting, and reporting to inform institutional decision-making and ensure compliance with state and university policies.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, VBA, and scenario analysis.
- High level accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience:
- Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting or forecasting.
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g. Banner, Workday, Oracle Finance).

Additional Considerations:
- Experience in higher education budgeting, specifically within Virginia's public education system.
- Knowledge of state budgeting processes and regulations.
