Job Summary/Basic Functions
The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in historic and vibrant Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking an assistant coach. Coaching duties include, but are not limited to: assisting the head coach with practice and game preparation; team film of practices/matches; travelling to recruiting tournaments and handling recruit interactions via email, text, phone calls; managing team academic study hall hours; supporting team social media accounts.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications
- Knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and training methods at the collegiate or advanced club level.
- Knowledge of applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and compliance requirements.
- Skill in instructing and developing student-athletes in individual and team volleyball skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
- Ability to assist with practice planning, game preparation, and opponent scouting using video analysis tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff while managing administrative tasks, recruiting support, and team travel responsibilities.

Required Experience:
- 3+ years of coaching experience and experience as a NCAA varsity student-athlete
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.

- 4+ years of coaching experience
- 1+ year of NCAA Volleyball Coaching experience or High School Head Coaching experience
