Department Summary
Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing financial guidance and assistance within the guidelines of regulatory requirements. Through educational endeavors and student outreach, FAS remains a vital contributor to UNT’s enrollment success.

Position Overview
This position will assist with the administration of various scholarship programs to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant awarding of aid. This employee will serve as a primary contact for campus partners regarding UNT scholarship administration. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, work well within a team as well as independently, and be able to manage multiple projects at once.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in related field, 3 years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted. Must maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- In-depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies, and procedures, with the ability to quickly assimilate.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, multitasking, and organizational skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of management.

Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience in a financial aid office, with knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Integrity, honesty, responsibility, and a strong desire to contribute to a team.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Required License/Registration/Certifications
As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.

Job Duties:
- Manage and maintain technical setup requests in PeopleSoft for awarding scholarships, including organization, monitoring, reporting, and outreach.
- Review and complete quality controls for scholarship and financial aid administration, resolving disbursement errors.
- Provide customer service and guidance to campus partners and colleagues, serving as the point of contact for in-depth scholarship questions.
- Process scholarship awards to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Assist with general scholarship inquiries from students and families, aid adjustments, customer service during peak times, and financial aid presentations.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and institutional rules for scholarship and financial aid administration, monitoring updates for impact on processing and customer service. Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisors to develop best practices.

Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with occasional nights/weekends.
