Position Overview
This is advanced professional work, which includes reviewing, evaluating, approving, and publishing theses and dissertations submitted to the Toulouse Graduate School. Theses and dissertations are evaluated and reviewed for compliance with (a) copyright law, rules and regulations; (b) UNT Thesis Manual formatting requirements, as well as other discipline specific style guides; (c) accepted standard rules of English grammar and spelling; (d) electronic accessibility and readability, and (e) providing statistical data as requested. Work is performed with some latitude for decision making under the supervision of the Director and Dean of the Graduate School.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of academic policies and procedures relating to the preparation of a thesis or dissertation.
- Extensive knowledge of writing and editing styles, grammar, spelling and punctuation and has the ability to write and communicate effectively.
- Ability to edit large volumes of printed and written material rapidly.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Job Duties:
- Review and evaluate theses and dissertations for compliance with copyright law, rules and regulations; UNT and discipline specific style guides; accepted standard rules of English grammar and spelling; electronic accessibility and readability; and provide statistical data as requested, with end goal of delivery to UNT Libraries.
- Meet individually or in group setting with students and faculty as needed regarding theses/dissertation processing and procedures; entails more specific and detailed instructions on word processing, copyright, alternative formatting and use of multimedia.
- Research activities to stay current on issues related to the use of copyrighted materials, multimedia use, archiving standards and style manuals and make references to standards in the UNT thesis manual.
- Maintain UNT Thesis Manual.
- Consult and collaborate with various UNT entities with interest in theses and dissertations (e.g., patent office and/or UNT legal affairs) regarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain familiarity with ETD technology and awareness of changes that will impact UNT.
