Department Summary
The College of Public Health (CPH) at The University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) seeks applications to fill a full-time Program Manager position. The University of North Texas Health Science Center is one of the three higher education institutions of the University of North Texas (UNT) System, with the UNT at Denton and the UNT at Dallas as two other higher education institutions. The UNT System provides high-quality education to those in the North Texas region, including Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton, and Frisco, as well as those from other states. The UNT System has 14,730 employees and educates 49,060 students in the Dallas-Fort Worth North Texas region, which ranks as the fourth largest metroplex in the nation. UNTHSC is a graduate academic medical center of the UNT System, comprising six schools – College of Nursing, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Public Health, College of Pharmacy, and School of Biomedical Sciences – and educating more than 2,400 students. UNTHSC has been home to 51 NIH-funded projects since 2019, with a total research NIH funding of $159,813,405.

Position Overview
The Senior Research Administrator will report to the CPH Associate Dean for Research. The Senior Research Administrator is expected to work closely with the CPH Dean’s Office and CPH faculty and staff in coordination with relevant HSC divisions, including the HSC Office of Sponsored Programs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and four (4) years' of experience with research administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
|
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Generally understand clinical research (broadly defined) and processes.
- Generally understand the full lifecycle of grants from application to closeout, including record management after closeout.
- General knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to grants and sponsored projects.
- Awareness of research methodologies, ethics, and institutional policies regarding research activities.
- Skills in productivity software programs.
- Skills in grants/HR/accounting management programs.
- Ability to be organized, work with deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to pay attention to details and proactively check and self-correct errors.
- Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in grants, HR, and accounting management systems such as HURON, PeopleSoft, PageUp, MarketPlace
- Proficiency in productivity software programs such as Qualtrics, Microsoft 365 (particularly Excel), OneDrive, PowerBI, Creative ADOBE, and DocuSign
- Proficiency in reference management software such as EndNote, Zotero, Mendeley

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:
- Responsible for creating and updating faculty worksheets for all grant active faculty
- Responsible for submitting monthly ePARs and as frequently as needed in a timely manner
- Responsible for preparing monthly reports on CPH grants, expenditures, and effort levels
- Responsible for preparing monthly reports on research and scholarly activities of the CPH faculty
- Monitors funding announcements and changing grant requirements
- Monitors and communicates about HSC-wide announcements for research-related events
- Monitors and maintains a good record of third-party vendors/suppliers, requisitions, and payments
- Monitors the UNTHSC Experts website for accurate CPH representation
- Assists with establishing contracts and MOUs in collaboration with the Office of Contract Administration
- Assists ADR for regular research or administrative meetings with CPH faculty
- Helps maintain data use agreements and IRB approvals
- Maintains collaborative working relationships with the CPH faculty and all HSC units related to research

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., occasional afterhours and weekends.
