The Toulouse Graduate School, with its outstanding faculty, high academic standards, and diverse student body, provides abundant opportunities for graduate students by offering over 100 master's and doctoral programs in a variety of disciplines.

Position Overview

The Program Project Specialist will plan, promote and implement activities related to TGS programs, which include program presentations and training, namely in association with graduate student professional development, graduate student council, and communications with the graduate student population as a whole.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and one year of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership for student employees and volunteers.
  • Experience in networking across departments and programs.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a college/university setting.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and work well with a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a can do attitude.
  • Experience in PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to work extended hours during registration periods as required.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating graduate workshops and special events for TGS.
  • Supports Graduate Student Council, Writing Lab, 3MT competition, TGS travel awards and TGS research awards including oversight of specific budgets (including reporting and forecasting), application review and approval, event coordination, development of content, and administration of related processes and procedures.
  • Communicate to relevant constituencies (graduate students, prospective graduate students, graduate advisors, staff, faculty, etc.) through newsletters, website, bulk mail, social media and other outlets with guidance from the Dean and/or Associate Dean in a manner that is driven by both policy and established style guides.
  • Identify issues or problems and research solutions including, but not limited to new software, available updates/upgrades that assist constituents of TGS, graduate student needs for workshop content, website and social media tools and outlets, data analysis, and strategic plans for TGS.
  • Responsible for various special projects in support of TGS Dean and executive staff.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm.
