Position Overview

Seeking an organized and detail-oriented support staff for our advising team and contribute to the smooth operation of academic and administrative functions. This position involves key responsibilities that include degree audit management, admission processing, advising and student support, contributing on special projects, and supporting daily office operations of the Graduate Programs Office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for helping students, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 4-5 years of work history in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service oriented approach.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with academic advising, admissions, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with office software, PeopleSoft, and scheduling tools.

Job Duties:

  • Assisting in training and mentoring of new advisors.
  • Processing and completing exceptions in degree plans.
  • Observation and support of new advisors.
  • Admissions processing including evaluating/admitting/denying applications/processing graduation applications.
  • Office Management - Performing general office tasks such as answering phone, checking mail, responding to emails from general inbox.
  • Student support - Assisting students with inquiries about program requirements, and application processes.
  • Appointment Scheduling - Managing calendars for advisors, scheduling meetings, and sending reminders to students.
